The South West Coast Path
The South West Coast Path is widely considered to be Britain’s best-loved national trail – and rightly so! The 630 mile route, leads all the way from Somerset, right round the rugged coastlines of North Devon and Cornwall, to the soft, pretty coasts of the southern parts of the West Country, before finishing at Poole Harbour in Dorset.
The breath-taking scenery available literally every step of the way, makes this route unique and beloved by walkers from all over the world.
Serious walkers come here to start their journeys round the coast, but the path also lends itself extremely well to those choosing to walk small sections on different days. There are numerous options for recreational walks, with many routes less than five miles in length, and well supported by pubs and cafes.
Penthouse Lynmouth Bay, with its three large double bedrooms, and two bathrooms, regularly plays hosts to multi-generational families or groups of walkers, who choose it as a very well-situated base from which to explore.
Some walks can be accessed from Lynton, but the local taxi firms are well used to taking guests to and from routes of their choice, allowing them to explore different areas of the coastline while retreating to the comfort of the apartment each evening.
A significant lure of Lynton & Lynmouth, is the variety of pubs and eateries all on the doorstep, although the apartment is fully equipped for self-catering and the local shops provide all that is needed for packed lunches and hearty dinners.
